This summer, the group welcomes three new undergraduates and two high school students to do research on a variety of topics going on in the lab.

Nallely Lopez from the SDNI (San Diego Nanotechnology Infrastructure) REU program is working with Matt on preventing dendritic shorting.

Nicholas Katzer, a UCSD chemical engineering undergraduate, is working with Hongyao on electrolytes in lithium ion batteries.

Leo is coming from National Tsing Hua University through the international summer research program to work with Chris on synthesizing nanoporous metals.

Helen Cho and Lucy Gao, high school students from Canyon Crest Academy, will be working on fast charging anodes for lithium ion batteries with Jerry through the UCSD MAPS (mentors assistant program).
